Grief Coaching & Loss Support
When Attention Feels Like Survival, Not Vanity
Grief affects everyone differently. At Renewal Centers, we recognize that people need different kinds of support at different times. For this reason, we offer two distinct approaches to grief support: clinical counseling and non-clinical coaching.
This page describes Grief Coaching & Loss Support, a non-clinical service for individuals who want compassionate guidance, education, and space to reflect on loss — without entering therapy.
A Non-Clinical Approach to Grief
Grief coaching is not therapy, and it is not about fixing grief or moving on quickly. Instead, this approach honors grief as a natural, human response to loss — one that deserves care, patience, and understanding.
Grief coaching offers a supportive space to slow down, make sense of what has been lost, and explore how grief is affecting daily life, relationships, and identity.
Grief Coaching vs. Grief Counseling
Grief Counseling is provided by licensed therapists and may include clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment when needed.
Grief Coaching is non-clinical and non-diagnostic. It focuses on education, reflection, and guided conversation, and does not replace psychotherapy.
When Grief Coaching May Be Helpful
- The death of a loved one or pet
- Divorce or the end of a meaningful relationship
- A significant health diagnosis
- Aging and changing roles
- Career loss or financial disruption
- Moving or leaving a familiar place or community
- Life transitions that carry both joy and loss
Areas of Focus Within Grief Coaching
Grief coaching at Renewal Centers provides supportive conversation and reflective space for individuals moving through loss. This work is non-clinical, and it meets the human experience of grief with care, presence, and practical understanding.
Areas of focus may include, but are not limited to:
- Grief related to the death of a loved one or pet
- Loss from divorce or the end of a significant relationship
- Anticipatory grief and ongoing or cumulative loss
